For our short film ECHO, about substance use among young people, we are looking for a boy between 3 and 5 years old to play the younger version of the main character. The film is about a mother who hears that her son (14) is in a coma in the hospital after excessive drug use. This happens just after she has seen old VHS footage of her son when he was younger on her TV.

For this reason, we are looking for an enthusiastic boy (3-5) to record these images that the mother sees on TV, together with us and your own mother. These will be filmed with a VHS camera and will involve the following scenes:

He is standing on a chair while his mother sings to him; he is happy and acting a bit silly.
He unwraps the gift he received from his mother; it is a Spider-Man suit, which he puts on with great joy.
- wearing the Spiderman suit, he runs in circles through the garden, he runs towards the camera, acts very hyper, and pulls funny faces.

What do we offer?
With this film, we have a strong social objective: to bring parents/guardians together to discuss the potential dangers and consequences of substance use among teenagers. Upon completion, the film will be used for screenings, guest lectures, and collaborations with educational and healthcare institutions in the Netherlands. We are already in discussions with various organizations regarding this.

In addition, you will work with a passionate, close-knit, and enthusiastic team. Naturally, we provide a delicious lunch, and a travel allowance is available should filming not take place at your home.

Description
For the film, we are looking for the following actor:

Julius (3-5 years old)
An energetic, cheerful, and upbeat boy who is easy to get along with.

For the scenes, it would be nice if the real mother were present to do the shoot together with the boy. We have a cameraman for this, and it will mainly be about the mother's voice behind the camera. She will otherwise not be visible on screen.

It involves one shooting day in the second or third week of June. The shoot will be very small-scale, preferably even in your garden at home. In addition to me (Fabrice Verhoeff) as director, a small team of up to 4 additional people will be present: cameraman, boom operator, production designer, and producer. There may ultimately be fewer.
