During the 2026 Cannes Film Festival, the French CNC and the National Film Centre of Latvia signed a bilateral agreement for cinematographic co-productions, signed by CNC Director Gaƫtan Bruel and his Latvian counterpart Dita Rietuma. The treaty establishes a framework that allows each co-producer a contribution of between 20% and 80% of the production budget, with exceptions of up to 10%, which is more flexible than the revised European convention. The agreement is valid for an indefinite period.
