In the Immersive Competition of the 79th Cannes Film Festival, Katábasis by French filmmaker Ugo Arsac won the Best Immersive Work Award, with the jury describing the work as "magnificent, deeply human, authentic and emotionally powerful." The interactive documentary, produced by the French company Zorba, explores New York's underground labyrinth and gives a voice to people who live, work, or take shelter in these hidden spaces, while their stories form a complex portrait of a polarized American society. A Special Mention went to the Franco-Spanish production The Black Mirror Experience, created by David Bardos and Damià Ferràndiz.
