A delegation of nine MEPs, including Vice-President Sabine Verheyen and Emma Rafowicz as rapporteur for Agora EU, is travelling to the 79th Cannes Film Festival to support the audiovisual sector during a crucial phase in the negotiations on the 2028-2034 Multiannual Financial Framework. On 16 May, a panel discussion entitled *Invest in what matters: Supporting Europe's film sector in the next EU long-term Budget (MFF)* will take place at the Palais des Festivals, where policymakers and industry representatives will discuss how EU funding can strengthen cultural diversity and the global competitiveness of European content, while the Parliament advocates for a more ambitious budget as demand for programmes such as Creative Europe structurally exceeds available resources.
