Annecy unveils its short film selection for 2026, featuring established names such as Hisko Hulsing (*Danse macabre*), Don Hertzfeldt (*Paper Trail*), Georges Schwizgebel (*The Picture of Dorian Gray*), Koji Yamamura (*The Spring Sea*), and Elizabeth Hobbs (*The Daughters of the Late Colonel*). Several titles come with a history: James A. Castillo's *The Quinta's Ghost* was nominated for an Oscar following its Tribeca premiere, *Acid City* stood out in Rotterdam, and Anna Ginsburg's *Hag* won two awards after SXSW. New this year is that the Midnight Shorts and WTF sections are competing for official festival awards for the first time.
