The Berlin Film Festival opened Thursday evening with a hopeful atmosphere, despite the cold and wet weather. During the ceremony, Sean Baker presented the Honorary Golden Bear to Michelle Yeoh, who shone in gold and is the star of his latest film, "Sandiwara." Yeoh received a standing ovation for her moving speech. The ceremony, unlike last year, lacked a political emphasis. The festival, led by Tricia Tuttle, focuses on indie cinema this year and runs until February 22nd.
